Retreat-Style Home Meets Rustic-Modern Architecture
The owner was looking for a north woods-like retreat house that would be a welcome respite from the business of life and a great place to relax after hitting the slopes of the nearby ski resort. This home renovation started with an open floorplan on the first floor, finished in various woods and stone with tall wood windows and a covered wrap around porch to protect from the gentle snow or rain while enjoying the hot tub. The exterior has modern architecture, complete with vertical synthetic board and batten siding and Hardie board trim. The timber-framed construction attaches the new house with a garage remodel adding a hint of charm and rustic flair. Lead Project Architect working with Harrington Architecture in 2018.
