Farmhouse Meets Modern Architecture

This family needed a new modern house design that could serve both retired parents and their teenagers’ needs. The new space offers modern architecture features that you’d find in a farmhouse-style home thanks to its one-story open floor plan with vaulted great room ceilings and a butler’s pantry. The mudroom right off of the garage gives the house a comfortable feeling while providing easy access to and from the vehicles this outdoor exploring family enjoys. A large covered and elevated deck wrapped in locally sourced timber along the back of the house offers sweeping views of the pond and a private tree line bordering the property. Along with the main floor, this new home design included a walkout basement remodeling, complete with 9-foot ceilings and an open staircase to blend the lower-level with large windows and patio doors. This area made for a fantastic family room and, if needed, more bedrooms. We added some eco-friendly architecture designs using large timber beams and trim that were harvested locally from trees that the homeowner planted decades ago. This project is currently under construction.
