Panoramic Show-Stopper with Sustainable Architecture
This client asked for a modern architecture style with sustainable home concepts, being sure to showcase the panoramic lake views while keeping the footprint to a minimum. The 8-foot tall sliding Marvin Signature doors provide breathtaking views, and the radiant, stone-look tiles are perfect for chilly winter days. The 14’ tall modern shed roof directs the eye from both the interior and exterior towards the lake. North-facing windows provide consistent and even light throughout the day and keep the harsh sun from overheating the interior during the Summer months. Black trim, doors, and hardware provide a striking balance to the warm and wide lap cedar siding featured on the exterior’s main entry and lakeside facades. The garage’s clerestory roofline plays with the modern roof lines to keep snow away from the California-style garage doors. A backlit floor-to-ceiling wood wall fireplace feature and floating cabinetry keep the interior light, airy and sophisticated. The open plan concept also manages to keep public and private spaces separated while enjoying all the benefits of having less walled off spaces.
